Report: Russia's Novatek mulls buying new assets – CEO

MOSCOW, Oct 18 (PRIME) -- Russian independent gas producer Novatek is considering buying new assets, CEO Leonid Mikhelson told reporters late Tuesday, as cited by Bloomberg.

The new acquisitions will allow Novatek to speed up the launch of internal assets, he said.

Novatek is also considering building a terminal for transshipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the Kamchatka Region and is looking for partners for this project, Mikhelson said. The terminal will be opened simultaneously with the Arctic LNG-2 project in 2022–2023. The company is looking for consumer partners, not producer partners, he added.
